Making salary deductions for unpaid leave

If you use Time and Attendance, RotaCloud's leave management system allows you to add both paid and unpaid leave - for salaried staff, you can add in custom deductions for any leave type you need.

Inputting leave deductions

Unpaid leave deductions can be added in an employee's profile. Go to the Company tab and select Employees - next, select the user you'd like to add a leave deduction rate for.

On the menu to the left of their profile, select 'Wage & Salary'. Scroll down this page and you will see a 'Leave Deductions Rate' section.

Enter in the amount you would like to deduct from the employee's salary if they take a full day of unpaid leave for any leave types you like (this will automatically half if you add a half-day of unpaid leave).

Once done, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click 'Save'.

Viewing leave deductions

Once set up, when a salaried employee has unpaid leave, this will feed through to your payroll reports.

To see a breakdown of the deduction, you can also click the 'Total Pay' section for the employee.

Pay rates for leave only show in payroll reports - if you do not use Time and Attendance, you will not have access to this section.
