Working Time Directive is a UK and EU law relating to number of hours worked - in RotaCloud, there are various areas of your RotaCloud account which refer to this.
What is the Working Time Directive'?
Working Time Directive is part of UK and EU regulations referring to the maximum number of hours an employee works. This states that the average number of weekly hours from the past 17 weeks should not exceed 48.
For Working Time Directive to not apply, employees need to explicitly opt out.
Opting out of Working Time Directive in employee profiles
RotaCloud allows you to mark an employee as having opted out of Working Time Directive meaning their hours are not capped. To do this, go to your Company tab and select 'Employees'. Select the employee you'd like and, below the 'Weekly Hours' section of their profile, you can tick 'Opted out of Working Time Directive'.
Ticking this option is purely for the purposes of your own record keeping and will not impact or reflect in any other areas of your account.
Working Time Directive report
RotaCloud offer a working time directive report - this can be found on your Reports page under the heading 'Hours & Costs' (on the left hand side menu).
Your report will then show you each employee's Working Time Directive figures (their average number of weekly hours) on a chart and table (below chart) and show by how many hours they are over or under 48.
The report will default to the past 17 weeks from the current date but you can choose to customise your report by changing various filters at the top of the page.
