If your employer uses our Time and Attendance package, you may be able to clock in and out of your shifts on RotaCloud. One of the ways this can be done, is using the mobile app*.

Allowing mobile clock-ins through the app is an optional feature so may not be enabled by your employer.
Clocking in on the app
If enabled, you can clock in and out on the RotaCloud app. To do this, you just need to go the Dashboard tab when you have an upcoming shift and should see a 'Clock In' option at the top of your page.
Once you've tapped this, you should see a map showing your Location. Ensure the map accurately shows where you are and then tap option to 'Clock in'.
Your clock in record will then be recorded on your timesheet for you and your manager to view.
Express clock in
You also have the option to bypass the map screen when clocking in and use our express clock in for a quicker experience. To do this, simply go to the Dashboard tab when you have an upcoming shift and tap and the 'Clock in' button for a few seconds. You'll then see confirmation that you've been successfully clocked in.
Express clock in will still log your Location on your timesheet and show you an error message if you're not able to clock in/out for any reason but will not load a map for you to view.
Why can't I clock in/out on the app?
Below are some reasons you may not be able to clock in/out:
Not enabled by your employer - clocking in/out on the app is optional so this may not have been enabled.
Clocking in too early - your employer can set how early they would like staff to be able to clock in to their shifts. This anywhere from three hours early to not allowing early clocking in. You may need to wait until the exact time your shift begins to see the option to clock in.
Outside Location perimeter - if your employer has set up a radius restriction, you will only be able to clock in when you are physically where they have determined that place should be. If you are not, you will receive the error message 'You cannot clock in/out from your current Location'.
Using incorrect IP address - if your employer has set up an IP address restriction, you will be required to be on a certain wifi network in order to clock in/out. If you are not connected to that wifi, you will get the error message 'You must clock in to [location name] using the internet connection at that location'.
Location on device not switched on - In order to use the RotaCloud app to clock in and out, you will need to ensure the location setting on your device is enabled (this varies per device but can typically be found in your device settings - separate to your RotaCloud app settings). You will also need to ensure the app has permission to use your Locations (again, this is in the settings of your device).
