Along with tools to copy a shift, copy a custom range of shifts, and creating a template, RotaCloud allows you to quickly copy a a whole week of shifts from the previous week.

Copying a week

To copy a week of shifts, go to the Rotas page and select the week you would like to copy the shifts into. From the menu at the top of the page, select the 'Copy' icon (this looks like overlapping rectangles), and then 'Add shifts (from previous week)'.

The shifts from the last week will then be copied into the current week. When copied, they will be in an unpublished state so won't be visible to staff until you're ready to publish and share them.

Clashing shifts

If you are copying shifts into a week that already has shifts in place, you will be made aware of any clashes that occur. You'll then be able to click the dropdown to select how you would like the system to handle this:

Clear shifts before pasting

Clears the entire week of shifts replacing them with the previous week

Overwrite clashing shifts

Clears only shifts that clash then with the previous week but keeping non-clashing ones

Move copied shifts to 'Open Shifts'

Any new shifts added that clash with existing ones will be moved to Open Shifts

Don't copy shifts that clash

Any shifts added that clash with existing ones will not be copied

Once you've made the selection you'd like, click 'Apply' and the relevant shifts will be added to your rota.
